Good Practice
Volunteers play a vital role in Lewisham by helping increase the capacity of local organisations to deliver essential services. Volunteers provide a huge contribution to help develop community cohesion and bring diverse groups of people together. They bring with them skills and local knowledge, and it is through volunteers giving their time freely that organisations are able to be more far-reaching in their services. Providing good support for volunteers is an important part in helping recruit and retain volunteers for your organization, and this includes providing good policies and procedures. Having and following good systems and practices helps organisations to flourish and grow, and to provide good quality services.
