Projects - Small Steps
 |
... Leads to greater achievements
Small Steps aims to support people with mental health difficulties to work actively towards their recovery by supporting them to become volunteers. We aim to support volunteers through offering appropriate volunteering opportunities. There are a variety of opportunities in a wide range of settings to increase confidence, skills, social networks and employability.
Four steps to volunteering
You, your key worker or care coordinator contacts us for an appointment.
You will be invited to a confidential one to one advice meeting. You can ask questions about volunteering and together we will explore volunteering opportunities that are available to you.
We also talk about any support you might need to get started. For example, help with completing forms or for someone to go with you to visit organizations for the first time.
After the advice session we will help you contact organizations you are interested in and go through the application process. This can vary from organization to organization, some will need you to complete an application form and others may ask you to come in for a chat.
